My personal favorite was the “Glass Bridge” challenge, when I stood at the edge of an imaginary abyss, trying to remember the sequence in the face of the threat of elimination. The stakes at play in this challenge made every step feel like climbing a mountain. But that’s not the only genius of Survival Escape: Prison Game. It also has diverse mini-games such as “Dalgona Candy” and “Red Light, Green Light,” which switch between tense moments and timing and accuracy moments. What first struck me was how the game harmoniously combines calming graphics with stressful gameplay mechanics. This contrast is also complemented by the atmospheric music, which oscillates between intensity depending on the level of the task.

The survival aspect is extremely engaging based on the realistic design of the prison environment. The threats in each level push you to reason and adjust your strategy on the fly. The one thing that makes this game stand out among other games of its type is that it puts you on edge—there’s always a threat of being erased, so each decision feels momentous. Before I had even won my first finished game, I couldn’t help but notice how good it felt. From the moment I installed Survival Escape: Prison Game, I knew I’d stepped into a fight not just of survival but of psychological endurance. That’s because the game was inspired by the second season of the previously hit adventure thriller Korean drama Squid Game, with one-to-one replicas of levels from most of the episodes. So this is a game much more elevated than a standard mobile game—it’s a test of your nerves and your brains. What makes this game so different is its incredible ability to psychologically and emotionally engage players. The challenges mount up with mounting tension, and the process of elimination puts you in fear throughout the entire process. Even the Dalgona Candy level, which seemed to be the most accessible and unchallenging, left me clutching my phone nervously. All the smallest movements had to occur while I was painstakingly attempting to incise out the delicate designs so as not to break the fragile candy, and a tiny miscalculation was always greeted with failure immediately. Few games have the power to generate that much tension, with victory appearing to be a thread’s breadth away. There is yet another level of brilliance in the game’s atmosphere.

The eerie background music and spine-chilling sound effects literally pull you into its survival plot.  Every knocked-out player seems like a reminder of your narrow chances of survival, and that is exactly why the competition and tension are so captivating. I also loved how this game gets in your head—constantly making you rethink your plans with each progressively harder level. With each new game, I was adapting faster and playing smarter. Whether it was the strategic deception of the “Marble Game” or the high-pressure precision during “Red Light, Green Light,” gameplay pushed my brain and reflexes to their limits. This is a game that really pays off for brains and cool heads under stress, and winning feels hard-won and hugely rewarding.

It’s not just a test of who is the greatest player—it’s a competition of who can adapt to chaos the quickest under internal and external stress. Unlike many repetitive mobile games, Survival Escape kept me occupied at all times with its different mechanics, having me hooked every time after a round.

Having the knowledge that I could be the next one to fail brought constant pressure, forcing me to stay awake and alert throughout the trials. The game’s incredible accessibility is also subject to special appreciation. Although it is easy to comprehend its essence, you require thinking, planning, and impeccable timing to excel.

This dual appeal made Survival Escape: Prison Game equally interesting to casual and hardcore gamers alike. Even after hours of playing, I couldn’t help but be pulled back in—half to improve my performance but half to enjoy the thrill of surviving against impossible odds again and again. It’s not common that you find a mobile game with this kind of addictive hook, and in my view, Survival Escape: Prison Game deserves all the praise it’s getting. Fans of the Squid Game series will be equally intrigued to discover what this game has to offer them.
